THE ANNUAL YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS is a capacity building program administered at www.YouthUSA.org.  The program partners with a caring adult mentor and a youth, age 7-24, to build a Whole Village of 20 caring adults.  The Whole Village collaborates with YouthUSA to empower the youth to believe and achieve his/her holistic goals.  (NTEE S99 Community Improvement, Capacity Building, J21 Vocational Counseling/ Guidance/Testing)

MONEY-N-THE-BANK is the economic empowerment program of Youth Achievers USA Institute.  The program engages the Whole Village in delinquency prevention by valuing personal goals, capacity building, and community development programs that encourage financial literacy, savings, investments, workforce development, mentoring, job creation or home ownership.(NTEE O50 Youth Development Programs, S30 Economic Development)

THE SOCIAL ENTERPRISE program is managed through a strategic alliance with TheEnterpriZe.com .  The program assists local entrepreneurs in local community improvement efforts.  The social enterprise helps the local entrepreneur develop a business structure, identify business capital, and create income opportunities for individual Youth Achievers and members of their Whole Villages. THE AMERICAN MENTOR WIRE SERVICE (AMWS) is an on-line information clearinghouse for news, features and announcements by program beneficiaries and supporters of Youth Achievers USA Institute.  Writers, producers, editors and aspiring talent can get published as a local contributing AMWS correspondent. THE J.D. & LAURENA WALKER FUND is a proposed $5-million community development program that manages nonprofit gifts, contributions and donations to Youth Achievers USA Institute.  The endowment supports merit-based scholarships, fellowships, grants, economic and community development, as well as the general operations of Youth Achievers USA Institute.  Any Youth Achiever can apply for a J.D. and Laurena Walker Scholarship or Work/Study Fellowship.  Awards are usually made to underserved groups.  (NTEE  T70 Fundraising Organizations that Cross Categories (includes Community Funds/Trusts and Federated Giving Programs) e.g. United Way

WINNERS ACADEMY is a national service learning initiative accessible via a password Internet portal that uses Digital Media, collaboration software and computer-based training modules.  The project plans and develops roles for leader participation in local communities.  Any member of any Youth Achiever’s Whole Village can qualify for a leadership position at Winners Academy.  Log on to The Conference Center to get started.

 

YOUTH ACHIEVERS USA INSTITUTE – EIN # 20-4945833

INCREASE THE PEACE is an unfunded capacity-building demonstration project submitted to the Compassion Capital Fund of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  It budgets $500,000 to provide technical assistance and administer $25,000 sub-awards to eight (8) qualifying local faith and community groups.  Each Mobile Technical Assistance Mission to a local community costs $10,000.

1.       IRS Approved application for 501(c)(3) Public Charity tax-exempt status

2.       Board authorized CEO position

3.       Increased the amount of the scholarship stipends and awarded 6 scholarships

4.       Established Work/Study Fellowship Program

5.       Identified funding to establish The J.D. and Laurena Walker Endowment

6.       Sponsored Technical Assistance Missions to U.S. Gulf Coast

7.       Developed and electronically submitted 2 Federal Compassion Capital Fund grant applications

8.       Created a partnership with CobbWorks!, a workforce investment board, and collaborated on a grant

9.       Established Partnership with Georgia Faith and Community-based Initiatives Program (DHR)

10.   Added Youth Achiever Jameelah T. Broughton to the Board of Directors

1.       Qualify a minimum of 12 new Youth Achievers

2.       Conduct 4-12 Mobile Technical Assistance Missions to low /moderate income and historically disadvantaged communities.

3.       Qualify 2 additional board members

4.       Increase staff by 2 employees.

5.       Develop funding to support existing programs and create an endowment

6.       Administer two federal grants in the Atlanta Federal Reserve Region

7.       Plan a Community-Economic Development application for Americorps National Direct Grant

8.       Award 10 Scholarships during The Annual Youth Achievement Awards

9.       Increase Educational Awards by qualifying Fellows as Americorps Members

10.   Upgrade web portal, database and online application
